Neuropathic ulcers

  • Location - pressure points: plantar 1st/5th metatarsophalangeal joint, heel, under calluses

  • Warm foot with palpable pulses - if arterial supply intact (distinguishes from arterial ulcer)
  • Brisk bleeding on probing/debridement (unlike arterial ulcers)
