PET/CT is the gold standard for initial staging of Hodgkin's lymphoma. It uses 18F-FDG to detect increased glucose uptake in metabolically active malignant cells combined with CT anatomical detail. The baseline PET/CT also serves as the reference for interim and end-of-treatment response assessment (Deauville scoring).
